Would the Bondtech Dual Drive Extruder help with Inconsistent Filament Diameter?

Would upgrading to the Bondtech Dual Drive Extruder help at all with getting a more consistent extrusion when the filament diameter changes?

I was thinking that maybe the Bondtech extruder could help but I don't really see any really why it would, mechanically speaking.  Other than having the higher pressure and better filament grip would cause the teeth to dig in more and not be as susceptible to changing diameters.

I've noticed that adjusting the spring idler tension has an effect on the amount that is extruded, therefore the extrusion multiplier needs changed, which makes sense.  Setting it on the light side gives the best results for me.  Has anyone played around with having a heavier vs lighter tension to help with changing filament diameter?

I have a few spools of Steelmens MatteForge filament and it prints awesome when the diameter stays the same.  They have a tolerance of +-0.05mm and they use all of that, changing through out the spool.  Due to this I end up getting some under and over extrusion throughout the print.  I've calibrated my extrusion multiplier but I don't plan on doing that several times throughout the spool and I like to print the same object in different colors and don't what to have to re-slice for each changing spool diameter.

With poor quality filaments (diameter deviations of 0.1mm and more and oval design deviations), even the bondtech extruder will not be able to fully compensate for this.
They are the reason for clogged nozzles, irregular extrusion and gaps in the layers. This is particularly noticeable with small nozzle diameters.
