I will upload the mold after some adjustments and tests.

I can confirm, the E3D once will sit as well. The difference should be half a centimeter and a lot of air at the edges.

The custom one only has a better fit.

Where to get the material?

CNC Kitchen has placed links to the materials he used in the description of his video.

@lichtjaeger

Big Thanks to you!

Can't wait to print them. Sadly my other printer does not work correctly atm, so I hope the mini will arrive soon. 🙂

Wow that's a great result! I know you didn't have enough time to test it since the mini is new but do you think it makes a significant difference?

The first day I used the E3D sock. After this one day of continuous printing, it already looks as if it will come loose.

After three days the new sock still sits perfectly.

If you're asking about the general good of a sock: I use them to fight blobs and to keep the heat block clean. If it also improves the heat up, it would only be a nice side effect for me.

Depending on the used part cooling fan, this thing is kind of a must have.

Had some trouble in the past with a sunon partcooler with a custom made fanduc - for large overhangs. This thing cooled that much, that I sometimes had an underextrusion while pushing this thing to its limits. The clean block is a nice side effect. I'm definetly happy to build one soon 🙂

It is recommended to do PID tuning when installing anything that affects heating, is there actually some way to do PID tuning within menu? Or does "console access" like Octoprint, Pronterface etc. work for this?

Meanwhile, I have started to make and sell some of the socks because I got some requests per PM. I still have some silicone left and can make more. But be aware that shipping outside the EU will be expensive for me.

You can add a donation platform to your PrusaPrinters profile. In my case, I simply added my PayPal profile. If you do so, a "Donate" button will be shown on your profile page and print objects pages. Feel free to use mine.

I highly appreciate your support. Thank you very much.
