Hotspots (or coldspots) on HeatBed

I have been noting that the corners on larger prints appear warped with uneven thickness.  What causes this and how to fix it?

Brim?

I haven't had too many warping problems with PLA, but PETG was troublesome for me... no matter what I tried, a large, square print suffered with corners lifting.

This thread was a help - inconsistent airflow/tempertature around the print seems to be a big factor: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-how-do-i-print-this-printing-help/petg-corner-lifting/

As the thread states, putting the printer in an enclosure is the ideal fix. This wasn't pratical for me, but adding a Brim in the slicer fixed the problem I was having. Might be worth a try?

If you don't have an enclosure, you might try the 'draft shield' option, available in both PS and Cura.

RE: Brim?

What could help against warping: Operate the printer in an enclosure and heat up the printing plate for about 20 minutes before printing so that the heat is well circulated. Deactivate fans if possible. Avoid drafts. Brim and mouse ears on the corners are also helpful.

Actually, that (preheating) is part of my SOP for printing most ABS prints.  I let the thing get up to temperature and stable for 15-20 minutes before launching the print.

I also use Layerneer with ABS prints, as it acts both as an adhesion booster (will help with warping/corner pull-up) and as a release agent.
