Copperhead Hotend and Bondtech Extrusion Issue

I’m trying to figure out what is causing the lines on the bow of this benchy. Otherwise I can hone in any stringing. I recently added the Bondtech extruder and Slice Copperhead hot end. I printed a quick benchy to see how it would do using Prusament. I noticed a lot of stringing and so it was suggested on Reddit to raise the temp and lower the fan which seemed counterintuitive but has reduced the stringing. I was following Bondtech’s instructions to tighten the tension screw and backoff two full turns. I then was reading that it still may be too tight so I backed off one more full rotation. (I marked a white dot on the screw head so I could try to be as accurate as possible) I was reading in here to change the retraction length to 2mm which did show positive results. I’m still working through this as otherwise it is looking decent enough sans just the bow. I have also orientated the print vertical and horizontal on the bed just to isolate. All results thus far have been the same or similar save for the temp raise and fan lowering. Suggestions?

I forgot to add, I have also added M92 E415 and the results of PID from Pronterface using M301 to the start G-code.

RE: Copperhead Hotend and Bondtech Extrusion Issue

I am also struggling with the Mosquito and it seems that the problem is the "long way" to the nozzle (I am currently printing with CPE at 275 and bed at 110 to have no warping, with a 2mm brass nozzle - the steel ones do not have stable temperature ... I could not get a first layer calibration without it to "dry out" several times)

The only way I could get a clean print was to let the nozzle drain out at print temperature and insert an 10-15 mm Extrusion before the print.

Regarding the stringing, I could get good results only wit the fan at 255.

Hope this helps

PS: I had to insert a Flow rate of 240 (M221 S240)

... the extrusion multiplier seems to work differently with the Mosquito

RE: Copperhead Hotend and Bondtech Extrusion Issue

maybe you missed the last step in installing the printer firmware.

"Perform a Factory Reset on your printer and choose ALL DATA to erase old values saved to the EEPROM.

If you fail to do so, you will experience under-extrusion.

Follow Prusa's guide on how to do this here: Prusa Factory Reset"
