What Does Warning Symbol Mean?

Sometimes when I load an STL file, a red exclamation point inside a red triangle appears in the upper right corner of the Object Manipulation section of the Prusa Slicer Window.  Sometimes there are indications in the bed display that the object is too large for the printer bed.  However, this symbol appears at other times when there is no indication as to what is wrong.

What does this symbol mean and how do I fix the problem it represents?

RE: What Does Warning Symbol Mean?

Do you mean this warning icon indicated in the following screen capture?

If so, that is a warning that the imported object file has errors. If you hover over this icon you should get a pop-up describing the errors:

On windows machines you have the option of just accepting PrusaSlicer's auto-repair, or right clicking on the icon and using an online service from Netfabb to fix the object. (AFAIK there are licensing issues not allowing Prusa to enable the Netfabb service for other platforms. I don't understand what they are though.) Or you can open the object into another 3D software to try to fix the errors, Meshmixer is a popular choice for this. Different fixing algorithms give different results, you may have to play around with a few to get the results you want. (Or you could luck out and PrusaSlicer's auto-fixing is enough.) I've had the occasional object that had so many errors that I never got a response from Netfabb, but was able to get passable results in Meshmixer.

You can also download a local free copy of Netfabb.  It has the best object repair algorithms I've found.  It has nag screens for registration and  licensing, but you can usually dismiss and ignore them.   Meshmixer has a fair repair tool good for finding and observing what is wrong: but is generally destructive in it's repair mechanism.

Thank you for the responses.  That helps.  But, I am using MacOS 10.13.6.  And I am looking at the Objective manipulation section of the Plater view.  Hover, and control/option/command click don't do anything. Where does your screen capture come from?  Here is mine:

same warning.. not sure what the mac equivalent to a right click on windows is , but hovering on the icon should give a tooltip with the error details

Don't know if they fixed it in one of the alphas/betas but there was an issue with Mac not displaying the tooltips.

Chris 'normally' all the controls, those on the left and at the top have a hover over pop up that describes it and give you the keyboard shortcut which helps in figuring out the controls.  If you are suffering the no pop up issue then you might want to download the recent beta release of Pruse Slicer from the Prusa github page at https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/releases

I am having difficulty understanding this message as well.  When I hover (Prusa Slicer 2.1.1 running on macOS 10.14.6), I see a popup that says "wxCustomRenderer ..." followed by what looks like a memory address.  The address changes about once per second.  I've attached a screen shot.

It's 4 years later, so sorry for threadus-ressurectus, but this is still an issue on MacOS. I'm using PrusaSlicer 2.7.1 and when I hover over the icon, I don't get a thing and right or left clicking or double-clicking on the icon or object name or anything on that line gives me nothing.

What macOS version are you running? There definitely is a problem on Sonoma 14.1, but it seems to be ok in 14.3, at least according to our testing.

I'm running 14.2.1.

I have also asked this question here, on another thread. I thought I had brought this up in the past and looked, but couldn't find it. It was only after I started that thread that, with continued searching, I found this one. Sorry for duplication - if I had found this thread first, I would have asked here.

On that thread I've been referred to the discussion on Github. Should I post my information on that Github discussion as well? Also, I am not seeing a message about anything being auto-repaired in this version. I used to see that, but haven't for several versions. Please let me know what else I can do to help you with debugging this. I do have some programming experience, but that's running my own company, so there are gaps - I have experience in a lot of things, but not in others. (I had to learn what I needed and rarely had time to get into anything that wasn't necessary!)

Thank you for the information. I recently moved to MacOS Monterey (12.7.2). The display does just what it is supposed to.

I have read about the issue on Sonoma with printers, so I am going to stay on 12 for some time.
