Supports not generated

Hi

I am creating some wing mirrors for a childs go-kart and wanted to print them upside down as the back of the wing mirror will be curved. This would need printed supports in the concave underside of the print where the mirror would then be inset into the plastic later.

I'm running PrusaSlicer 2.2.0 on Debian Linux and I cannot make it generate supports! Even with adding a support enforcer, no supports are generated. Thinking there is something weird with my model, I even tried deleting the curved back part of the file, so it is just a hollow cylinder with a base, flipped upside down but still PrusaSlicer refuses to generate supports underneath it! Any ideas why supports are not generated? Tried changing the angle setting too. No joy.

Can't attach the 3mf or stl file here either, which is silly.

Best Answer by bobstro:

The slicer has determined that the top surface can be bridged successfully, so is handling it as bridged rather than supported.

Disable Print Settings->Support material->Options for support material and raft->Don't support bridges.

This is the item - added to the print library - 3mf and stl files attached if anyone else can verify that supports aren't generated?

@bobstro

Thanks for that - I knew it had to be something silly like that!

Cheers
