PrusaSlicer with Ender 5 Pro Extruder stops
Hello all!
I just installed PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 and added my mini's and Ender 5 Pro using the wizard. I sliced an STL which both of my minis printed just fine. When I sliced the same STL for my Ender, the extruder stops mid print. As soon as I stop the print and restart it, the extruder works until the same point and stops again.
Here is what I tried.
A new SD card. (Brand new SanDisk)
Reseated cables.
Pushing filament by hand (This works fine)
Slicing a different STL (same result)
Cura. When I use Cura the print completes with no issues. (I just don't like Cura)
Any ideas of what I could be missing?

Hi, Could you save your print as a Project in Prusa Slicer, this creates a .3mf file, and then Zip the .3mf file, before attaching it in your next post.

When you say stops mid print do you know either the layer or the height it stops at ? Basically at what point.

I did another three test prints yesterday. The two none complete ones were from PrusaSlicer. The complete one is from Cura. You can see they failed at almost the same layer, but it appears one made it about 5 more layers before stopping. The order I printed them were PrusaSlicer > Cura > PrusaSlicer. I really don't think this is hardware related at this point.

Thanks for the 3mf. I was sort of hoping you had noted down the layer height where it just stops so I could look at the gcode for that layer 🙂

I cant see anything out of the ordinary in the generated gcode or the project file. Sorry. Even loading it into a non prusa gcode viewer it looks valid and normal.
Can I clarify a couple of things.
When you say stops printing, do you mean the printer acts like its got to the end of the file and stops and cools down etc at those layers ? or do you mean it continues trying to print but no filament is coming out ? Those are 2 very different things.
If the printer is acting like its got to the end of the file then that could indicate there's something it doesn't like in the file that is causing the gcode parser in the printer firmware to crash/reset/do something screwy. If its just not feeding filament then that could be down to many things like a extruder jam/clog on the solid infill on slopes that PS puts in there but Cura generally does not.
Also it would be useful to have a copy of the gcode produced by Cura to compare the 2.
