Prusaslicer making a meal out of simple objects.

I have noticed recently that printing simple shapes, notably cylinders, is taking way too much time. The reason.. the toolpath that Prusaslicer calculates. I have tried changing line layer heights and widths etc. to remove these stop-start artifacts but to no avail. Why is a simple perimeter broken up like this..it's really slow and annoying. I use Fusion 360 for my modeling.

Most likely due to the wall not being an exact multiple of the normal perimeter extrusion width wide. You can see the slicer inserting gap fill (white spots) at various places. If it's your model, try making the wall a bit thicker. If not, try adjusting your perimeter extrusion widths up or down until you get a smooth wall pattern.

@bobstro

Just altered the drawing to multiples of 0.45 and now have a smooth run around the perimeters. Thanks.

I still think the algorithm could be improved to reduce those seemingly random gap fills and back tracking movements.C'est la vie 🙂
