PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 - Final release

Summary

This a final release of PrusaSlicer 2.3.0, introducing paint-on supports (video), ironing (video), monotonic infill, seam painting, adaptive and support cubic infill, print time per feature analysis, standalone G-code viewer application, better auto-arrange with a customizable gap and rotation, search function for the settings, reworked "Avoid crossing perimeters" function, physical printers (network settings), many new 3rd party printer profiles and much, much more.

The final release follows releases 2.3.0-alpha12.3.0-alpha22.3.0-alpha32.3.0-alpha42.3.0-beta12.3.0-beta22.3.0-beta32.3.0-rc12.3.0-rc2 and 2.3.0-rc3. This release fixes bugs found in the last release candidate. For all the new features in the 2.3.0 series, please read the change logs of all the alphas, betas and release candidates.

Unlike the alphas and the betas, the release build saves its profiles into PrusaSlicer directory, which is the same directory where the previous releases of PrusaSlicer (and the rcs) keep their profiles. If you were testing the PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 alphas or betas, your profiles from them would have to be manually imported into PrusaSlicer 2.3.0-rc3 by exporting and importing the Config Bundle.

Bugs fixed with respect to PrusaSlicer 2.3.0-rc3

  • Linux specific: Fixed new linker dependencies - glib and GTK libraries. (#5722#5739#5717, thanks @combolek)
  • Linux specific: Fixed "Single instance" feature for AppImage. (#5733)
  • Linux specific: Fixed a regression issue where a change in parameter was not accepted when switching between parameter pages. (#5720)
  • Fixed a crash when slicing an object producing no layers with Elephant Foot Compensation enabled. (5a1a410)

  • Original Prusa i3 MK3S+ MMU2S
  • Original Prusa i3 MK3S+

Is there any improvement in ironing and gap filling between perimeters since rc3?

While the download from Github appears to be working fine, the download from the official site (at least for macOS) is not:

https://www.prusa3d.com/drivers/

Attempting to download the complete ~600MB package gets no further than about 25MB before it stops. Investigation suggests I am receiving a HTTPS stream INTERNAL_ERROR code during the download. Any suggestions on the cause/when we can expect a fix?

And whatever the issue was has now been fixed 🙂

It worked for me.  I wonder if it was a local thing.  Great update!

Spash screen says beta one for me.  I downloaded using the new installer from the Prusa software page.  Works fine when installing from github.  Can I now delete my Prusa3d folder that has the wrong version in it?

How do you install it?  I ran the old 2.2 slicer and under Help menu found "software releases"  That took me to github where I downloaded the topmost ZIP file.  Looking inside of it there don't seem to be any installers.  And there are no READ me.  And on the github article page, it is the same as this announce page - with no install instructions.

Beuller?  Beuller?  Did someone take a day off?

I am running into the error opening the "New version 2.3.0" it is telling me I need a new opengl32.dll......anyone know where I can spend time looking for a fix?  this is on my main laptop where i do all my 3D work......and yes I tried the --sw_renderer switch and it does not work...I guess they forgot to put in this version.

RE: PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 Final Release.

I had previously installed the last RC version and had set up a Creality CR-10 V2 under Printer Settings. When I installed the final release, that was still there under User Settings and Physical Printers, but when I try to add another Creality printer under Add/Remove Printers, I no longer see any predefined options other than for the Ender 3. What happened to all of the other models that had been available under the RC version?

Hi Shane,

Could you share the information that you are talking about so that users can make changes instead of waiting for Prusa to make them?
