Opening 3mf files loses printer connection

If a select a printer configured to allow sending files over the network (SL1 or mk3 with Octopi), everything works great.  However, if I then save the current configuration (stl, print settings, printer selection, etc.) to a project (3mf), when I reopen that 3mf at a later date, the printer shows up as "name_of_3mf" (Printer Name), instead of just the printer name.  That 'virtual' printer does not have the connection setting for the printer (no IP address, no API key) and the "send to printer" button is missing after slicing, just the 'export gcode' button.

If I manually switch to the correct printer, everything works fine.

Anybody know why this occurs?  Simple bug, or something more subtle?  I could see that if 3mf is seen as an interchange format (send a full slicer setup to a friend), removing the IP address/API key would be desirable.  However, since 3mf appears to be the only "save all of the current state for reproducing again tomorrow" project save format, this feature is less desirable.
