Models Not Taking On Global Settings

Having some issues with PrusaSlicer 2.2 (had the same issue before I updated from 2.1 too). My STL files are not taking global Print Settings, specifically on Layer Width. I have made my Print Settings profile have 1.0mm layer width for my 1.0mm nozzle but none of the files I use pick up those settings for some reason, I feel like I'm missing something obvious but can't figure it out. When I use object-specific width settings it slices it like how I want, but since there's no First Layer Width setting on the object settings I get a first layer of .45mm and the rest of the layers at 1.0. When I delete the Object settings, everything goes back to the default .45mm width, even though my profile has 1.0mm as the Layer Width. Why are my objects not taking on the global width settings I set? I don't understand what the point of global settings are if they aren't applied to the files, so I feel like I'm missing a step somewhere.

My global width settings -

The first layer, not taking those 1.0mm settings or the object specific settings -

Second layer, taking on the object-specific layer widths -

Thanks for the help!!
