How to configure nozzle fan to start up slowly and not full blast on second layer?
Hey all...
so ever since upgrading from mk3 to mk3s, I've been having problems where the temperature of the hotend dips quite a lot during second and third layers, occasionally triggering thermal runaway. Temperature should be 210, but its 190 for example... then after a few layers it goes back up, because i assume air is not blowing so hard on it and bouncing from the bed...
I have not really figured out how to adjust fan curve so that it starts slower and not at 100% on second layer

A silicone sock should help.

yeh i did see that suggestion before... but in the meantime i would like to fix it with hardware... and im just looking if its possible to not start the fan at 100% on layer two...

okay, I ordered the silicone socks, so I suppose I will suck it up until then and just monitor and manually adjust temperatures at the start of each print...

You might check the fit of your cooling fan duct to make sure it's pointed at the nozzle and not the heater block.

A silicon sock does help, had the same problem, now variance is only a couple of degrees and only for a very short while.
