How I can get the printing boundary box of the Prusa i3 MK3S into PrusaSlicer 2.1.0?

I just update to PrusaSlicer 2.1.0.

Really great slicing tool. And adding the STL.model of the Prusa i3 MK3S into the the bed is sometimes helpful.

By surfing I saw some screenshot with th printing boundary box, but in PrusaSlicer I didn't find any settings.

How I can add the printing boundary box into the printing environment?

Because sometimes the 3D-modells are huge, I need to verify the whole printing dimensions. Sometime I will turn the 3D-modelles into a special angle to print.

Please help.

Many thanks for all support and explainations.

Here's a refined version with the bounding box of 250x210x210

Install the default profiles.  Use the Configuration Wizard to do this.

I think the OP is asking on the vertical volume bounding box (a wire-frame rectangular prism showing the build volume in x, y, and z). I haven't seen a way to turn that on in Plicer.

That's not the bounding box of the print volume, rather that is the bounding box of the object. Though I must admit the change in shade of blue where the object exceeds the print volume is nifty, and I just verified for myself (by grossly scaling an random object) that this change in shade of blue also works if the height of the object exceeds the maximum printing height.

For me, I think the "change the object to blue and show with darker blue where the print extents is violated" color scheme is sufficient, I can see some wanting to visually see how much headroom is left even with a valid print.

I used that example to show how a random screen shot can be misinterpreted.  It looks like a bounding box, but isn't. Yet it shows an invisible bounding box IS active.

Ah. I misunderstood the intent of your picture.

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but which of those thousand words are intended isn't always clear. 😉

@tim-m30

You can edit the stl file used by PrusaSlicer to represent the bed.

I opened it in Rhino and added a few rods to represent the 210 height of the bounding box.

Would you be interested in sharing your stl file? (You'll have to zip the stl before posting to this site...)

Michael-k119,

Thanks for your model. tis help a lot.

I expect from PrusaSlicer this bounding box as a select/unselect option for the Printer. Now I create two additional profiles with the bounding box and one with the whole Prusa i3 MK3S.

Once more thank you.
