Cannot install 2.3.0 final, says I don't have internet
Hi there, I am getting an error installing 2.3.0 which I just downloaded. It says that an internet connection is required - which I have. IT then stops the installation.
How can I debug this? Is this a temporary issue where some server is down that the software tries to connect to? Or can you tell me how the software checks if it's connected to the internet so I can see what the issue is?

Got it. It was because I had downloaded the "Stand Alone" installer file which doesn't work. The simpler Windows version worked without a hitch.

Sorry about forgetting this. I am running windows 10.
Apart from that, not sure what to write. My system is working perfectly and all other software can connect normally.

I just installed the 2.3.0 without errors on the following system:
MS W 10 Pro, 10.0.19042 build 19042
It might be possible that your firewall is blocking something? Possibly install as admin?

I was also able to install it on my Windoze machine. Mac and Linux also worked without a hitch.

It might be possible that your firewall is blocking something? Possibly install as admin?
As i work in a large company, it is not an option for me to change anything on the side of the firewall.
I run the installation with admin rights, Slicer 2.2.0 and the required drivers was no problem.

I have the same isue. He asks for internet, and i am online.
I have it, Kaspersky has blocked.
Deaktivate it and works.

As mentioned in my previous post, in my case installation failed on a Windows 10 20H2 system (an Asus Zenbook Pro UX58). Today I tried again on a Lenovo ThinkPad W530 (with Windows 2004) and the installation completed without problems.
I then tried to temporarily disable Windows Defender Firewall on the Asus laptop (it was enabled on the ThinkPad) and installation was successful.

Ok let me give that a shot. I tried it once with security off, but I'll see maybe if I missed something the first time. Thanks for the response.

I confirmed all firewalls and virus software was turned off. Still gives the same message unfortunately.

Had the same issue. Disabled Avast antivirus (by suggestion of an awesome person) and it installed fine.

I have webroot, disabling it does not solve the problem.

Hey all, can confirm that the stand-alone is broken, the normal version works fine.

What 'simpler version' do you mean? I'm getting the same problem with the standalone install.
