Upgraded parts for MMU2.0

What to do to pass the time. I noticed on one of the steps on the MMU 2.0 build that the manual suggested snipping a piece of the door where the main board to connect the MMU to the MK3. so using the R1 Einsty- base.STL file I used fusion 360 to edit the file and made a similar to the hotend harness to give it a stock feel, to allow the MMU wires to enter the cage from the top without cutting the corner of the door. I printed it in PETG orange still using R2 extruder parts (still printing them) and it printed well the standard zip ties that you have extra from the build kit fits in the channel, But I'm still waiting for the MMU to ship 🙁 I'm sure someone from this community might print it.

let me know how it goes,

specs the opening is 8mm which from the build pictures looks about right thickness of the bundle of wires. also, a slot was made to allow easy wire feed.

This is awesome! I received my MMU2 unit last week and hate that I had to cut the door. It just looks sloppy. I'll give this a try once I get my black PETG shipment! I'll post pics and a update when I do.

Can you make a version of this using the new Einsy base released by Prusa? I have attached a zip file with the new parts. They all change some except for the door. The new base has a MUCH better cable management system.

I should have quoted you so you were notified. Can you make a version of this using the new R7 parts? They have better cable management. I attached a zip file of the new parts on the post above this one.

Hi CybrSage, thanks for the file and I'm working on a way to fit the mmu harness

Re: Upgraded parts for MMU2.0

Maybe you can add a Pi Zero door in your redesign for those having installed a Pi Zero in their MK3.

There are plenty of models on Thingiverse to get on idea how this can be incorporated.

I am pretty sure the updated file has that door built in. It has a little area that is easily removed on it at least.

You are right, the updated B7 parts have the door already. Thanks for uploading. I'm going to print this as I've just got a shipping notification for my MMU2.

Thanks! I am going to be printing this in about an hour, after a bunch of cannons are done printing (starting a Pirate campaign in D&D in two weeks and realized I was short a dozen cannons!). 🙂

I'm also hoping to start a D&D campaign but am short about a dozen nerdy friends. 🙂

I'm using this from Thingiverse, works very well if you have a setup with a PI. I've connected my PI 3B+ directly to the einsy headers as if it was a PI Zero.

Hi. First, thanks for doing this model. I downloaded the .stl's and there is an issue with cracks in the area of the extruder inlet flange. Did I get a bad file or have you fixed that issue? Thanks again

Hi David, Thanks for pointing that out. Stl files when converting them to mesh they are a tricky file to work with without the master file you will be fighting with triangles. I found 2 mesh issues one by the long screw a chunk was missing and the cracks I think your mentioning are near the square nut insert holes? like in the picture? what I had to do is shrink the opening of the 12mm harness down to 11mm it will be a tight fit for the cable but that will make the cracks go away . hope that helps

Hi got the new file and did the print today. Amazon Basics petg, 0.15 layers, 25% fill. A few stings to clean up but it will be on my printer tomorrow. Thanks.
