Alternate pulley body gears?

Hi all,

I have a hell of a time with the pulley body gears grinding away my eSun filament (step 5 here if the nomenclature isn't clear) : https://manual.prusa3d.com/Guide/5.+Pulley+body+assembly/1040?lang=en#s18162 ). One could posit that there's too much drag, but I generally have an issue with metal vs PLA/plastic. There are times when the MMU2 simply goes spazzo, and when it happens, the filament(s) suffer and it completely buggers everything up.

Essentially, when the MMU2 has a brain fart, the plastic will never win.

SO - I would like to know, are there alternative gears which do not have metal teeth? i.e. a hard rubber? Something that will grip filament hard, but not grind the hell out of it?

cheers,

Kieran

.. I thought about putting some silicon on an existing gear.. to fill some of the gaps in the teeth, and provide a bit of 'stickyness'. It'd have to be a thin enough layer so the filament path stays somewhat open, but it I thought it might be an idea.

not really, but you might want to update the MMU to the 1.0.6RC2 firmware - it's got a bunch of bug fixes
