Detailed PETG with BVOH supports on Textured PEI

A problem printing with PETG on the textured PEI is that it barely sticks; especially if the extruder has to deposit melted plastic during many sharp turns with a short distance between them. BVOH sticks even less (if at all) to the textured PEI. The Prusa slicer accounts for this by providing a skirt, brim, or raft feature; however, if the outline of the solid object being printed is detailed, then so is the outline of the raft, skirt, or brim, and the same problem ensues with the outline on the first layer.

I've experienced a measure of success printing some detailed solid objects from PETG with BVOH as support material by creating a solid that is exactly the solid I wish to achieve, albeit the first layer is comprised of a large rectangle that is a centimeter larger than the footprint of the solid in all four directions. This way the first layer is nothing more than simple rectangles that have no difficulty sticking to the textured PEI, and all detailed layers of both PETG as well as BVOH are subsequently applied to the first layer where  they now have no difficulty sticking.

The imaged are for a soapstone holder used by welders to mark steel.

I've found that PETG sticks excellently to the textured sheet. I've had zero problems with PETG. Now PLA is a different story. It seems to be practically repelled by the textured sheet. Luckily, I rarely print PLA anymore.

I clean my textured sheet maybe once a month if that and use just a paper towel and isopropyl alcohol.

What brand of filament are you having trouble with? I've used Creality, Essentium, Amazon basic, Polymaker and they all stick wonderfully.
