MMU2 single mode: mid print random "Remove old filament...."-message

Hi guys,

I am using my MMU for some weeks now and it generally works nicely. I calibrated both sensors and they seem to work as intended.
BUT: during single mode prints (usually a few hours in) the printer stops, retracts the filament into the MMU and shows the message "Remove old filament and press the knob to start loading the new filament" and beeps. All I have to do is press the knob, the printer reloads the filament asks if it's extruding the right color and continues as if nothing happens. Since this exclusively happens when the printer is unattended, here my question:

What condition exactly triggers this behavior? I assume it's one or both sensors, but I don't know for sure - troubleshooting would be easier if I knew. Does someone know?

Thanks

This is most likely due to the sensors. One or both sensors are just within the switching range. A small movement is enough and the status changes from 1 to 0. You can actually only regulate this with a readjustment. I have mounted LEDs on both sensors for visual control, so that I can keep a better eye on the switching process.

@karl-herbert Yes, thanks, -awesome and essential mod- but that was not my question. Since the filament is retracted before display of the message both sensors are not triggered when I arrive at my printer. And, yes, it is most likely one of the sensors. The question was:

What condition exactly triggers this behavior?

Someone familiar with the FW-code around?

For people having the same issue: It's the FINDA sensor. Apparently ist switches to 0-state due to rising temperature even with filament loaded.

(I found the only function using the above mentioned error-msg: mmu_M600_wait_and_beep() which is only used if FINDA triggers an automatic M600... see marlin_main.ccp:3263)
