How to reduce speed of selector filament load from MMU2S?

Hello, I'm trying to make my printer as quiet as possible, and right now the loudest part BY FAR is loading and unloading the filament, when the printer sounds like a plane taking off. I would like to reduce the speed at which it loads and unloads the filament so that I may sleep at night. So far the only setting i've found that seems like it might help, is the 'Loading speed' and 'unloading speed' settings for individual filament, but I would like to A) make this a printer-wide configuration, and B) I was under the impression that those two affected the tip formation, and since it took me ages to get a decent tip, I didn't want to modify those too much.

Currently my settings for what I think the relevant values are as such:

Loading speed at start: 19 mm/s

Loading speed: 14 mm/s

Unloading speed at start: 140 mm/s (increased speed to get better tip formation)

Unloading speed: 90 mm/s

Maximum acceleration when retracting: 1250 mm/s^2

Maximum acceleration when extruding: 1250 mm/s^2

Thanks in advance!

IMO the TZB firmware makes MMU2S more quiet: https://github.com/TheZeroBeast/TZB-MMU2S-Firmware

Not sure if it affect the issues that you talk about though...

The retraction and insertion of the filament from MMU to the extruder head is being handled by the MMU. There are no options for the in the PS. If you want to change this speed, there are two options.

1. Change to silent mode for the MMU. It's still not really silent but you will see it will get more quiet.
2. Update the speed settings in the firmware: https://github.com/prusa3d/MM-control-01

@nikolai-r

Thank you! I didn't realize the MMU2 had a separate Silent mode! Are there any downsides to using Silent mode? I know in Silent mode the MK3S disables some niceties such as crash detection, was wondering if there are any such downsides for the MMU2.

RE: How to activate silent mode?

Me neither I didn’t know there is a separate silent mode. How do you enable it? Can’t find anything on the web about this option. Thanks.

Go "Settings" on the LCD and scroll down to "MMU Mode" select Stealth or Normal

I haven't noticed any down sides using stealth, but it is a bit quieter.
