Question about MMU upgrade

We bought a MK3S+ a while ago and absolutely loved it. When a friend heard that we plan to get the MMU2S upgrade kit, he generously gifted us a "MK2 MMU to MK2.5/MK3 MMU 2.0" kit. My question is, in addition to this older upgrade kit, what spare parts do we need to upgrade our MK3S+ to MMU2S? I know to the least we need to get the idler and pulley motors. Or does it make more sense to just buy the latest kit (which has a 6~7 weeks leadtime now)?

Thanks for any suggestion!

RE: Question about MMU upgrade

So you have an upgrade kit to convert a MK2 MMU to a MK2.5/MK3 MMU2 kit? I think what you'll want to do is create a spreadsheet and list every part you do have, then compare that to the latest MMU BOM. I don't know where to find that BOM, but it is all open source so it shouldn't be difficult to find.

I have more money than time, so I'd personally just buy a new MMU2S kit. That way you know you get the latest Prusa design and have support from Prusa if it becomes necessary. But if you look at your spreadsheet, you might find that you don't need a whole lot. I'd post the spreadsheet here to get some comments on it as you may find that some parts need to be reprinted for upgrades, some parts may not be needed, some may need to be replaced.

That upgrade kit is not applicable to your printer.  You should buy the full MMU2S Kit.
