Humidity in Dry Boxes

Hi.

What is the recommended humidity for dry boxes? Or what humidity do you guys have in your dry boxes?

Because my filament has its own compartment in my PLATSA enclosure my plan was to seal the door and don't use any dry boxes at all. Currently I get 41% humidity in the compartment, but I'm not sure if that's enough. What do you guys think?

Greetings
Saij

RE: Humidity in Dry Boxes

I use those silica gel dry-packs in my dryboxes and I'll bake them when the humidity in the boxes creeps up to the high 20s.

It's winter here, and the room humidity is now around 20, so it's currently not an issue.

41% seems high?  Are those indicating sol-gel?  I dry my blue indicating gel with my filament and then put the warm indicating gel and spools in a bag to let them get to room temp.  Then I use them or keep them in the bag with the gel until it turns.

I’m assuming that indicating gel has greater affinity for moisture than filament.

@jsw is that absolute or relative?

Mine is the 20s - 22-26.  I am happy with the results.,

Relative, I assume.  It's what the el-cheapo Home Depot humidity gauges read.
