How long is too long to respond to MMU errors?

My printer is in my classroom at school.  Often we run prints that will end after the school day ends or after I go home, if there is an error over night, it could remain in the error state for 12 hours until I return.  During this time, the heat bed stays warm, the fans, etc all do their thing.

My question is this:

How long is too long for the printer to remain in an error state before addressing the error?  if there is a filament load/unload error, for example, is it damaging/harming the printer for it to be stopped midprint for hours at a time?  Would I be better off pausing the print until I return early the next morning?  Is putting a print on pause for 12+ hours harmful to the printer or the print?

When there is a MMU related error it will pause the print similar to if you selected the pause option from  the menu. This will move the extruder to the rear left and turn off it's heat. The bed will maintain it's temp. Once you fix the issue it will them pick up where it left off.

I have had mine wait for my attention for 8-12 hours (e.g. failed just after my last check before bed) with no issues.
