So - folks are thinking the printer homing, doing them mesh level, then extruding in place prior to the purge line is expected behavior?

Sort of, yes.

It bed levels, goes to the start point of the purge line, and then issues the first tool change. The last step feeds the filament through the MMU to the extruder and this is where I believe the blob is being created.

If the startup gcode instructs the printer to do so, absolutely. This is nothing new. Putting some sort of blob or scraping action in startup gcode goes back years. Chris Warkocki likes to put a big (8mm IIRC) blob at the start of his prime line and looks much like OP's. I use 2mm.

I've watched the video a few times and it's as if the camera was positioned to give ambiguous info. I can't detect whether the extruder turns during the noisy bit (though I'm willing to bet it is) and I also can't make out whether an MMU is in use.

Watch the filament squirting up at the 20 second mark in the video and listen to the extruder furiously clicking. There's no way ooze is going to push up past the nozzle and form that blob, nor is oozing going to make noises.

I have gotten different purges but 99% they are the same. I suspect the different one might have come when i was swapping filament before the print started or something. im not sure why it changed tbh...

RE: Preliminary Purge Strip Question

The purge strip starts at my left and goes right and back to start position before printing. It does very well and I think that the new longer strip with the blob make all old filaments struck on nozzle removing. The blob for me is like cleaning process if I forget to clean the nozzle. Everything well.

BUT I am asking you if I could change the travelling position for the x axis so it starts at opposite side? Because I want to get the PTFE tube more straighten, not bending to much makes the filament bent and misses PTFE sometimes during load to nozzle..

I think I would change those fat marks but the autohome will end up on the left side, not on the right side. How can I change autohome to right side?

My MMU2s is placed on my left upper above the printer.

RE: Preliminary Purge Strip Question

I get a small blob at the start of the purge line, especially when I am switching filament types, PETG to PLA it is most noticeable.
