My first MMU2 success

After a week of tweaking the MMU2 I finally got a successful print.
Anyone know why I got some color mixing in the white. You can see that the white near the top is more of a light grey.

my sheep had a slightly darker band at the top also . appears to be something in the Gcode in that area. possibly wipe into infill material is enabled.

nice, it's taken me about a week to get mine printing all 5 colors. my sheep had black and red bleeding also.. we can adjust the purge for those colors.

I have a Prusa,therefore I research.

Hi Debra,

You have to purge more white material after black color, you can do that in advanced purging volumes in Slic3rPE.

hey, I just remembered, a wise man once said load the darkest filament first. so black and red filament 1 and 2. I of course 100% forgot that. and mine is loaded light first. I will change them around and see if that helps.

A couple more successful prints. The space ship was a 27 hour print in 5 colors, 800 plus tool changes.
I added two springs to the selector front plate and re-calibrated the ptfe tube length so the filament comes a couple mm further into the extruder. This greatly improved the reliability of the MMU2

Is the spaceship on Thingiverse? I'd like to give that one a try.

After days of testing, changing the pulley, recalibration and fine tuning, I also got my first succesful print. So thanks to everybody for their help here on the forum. There ist still improvement on the quality of the print, but I'm happy with the result.

High Chris,

with two colours it doesn't really matter which order you use because dark always swaps to light with potential contamination at alternate filament changes...

you can adjust the purge volume in Slic3r to reduce contamination when changing dark to light!

Re: My first MMU2 success

I hijack this thread , cause it´s kinda similar.
I had no success printing anything since december 3rd up to yesterday. I attached and disattached the MMu multiple times. Lots of frustration.
Yesterday I had some time to tweak again. The only change I´m remembering is enlarging the PTFE tube in the filament sensor cover. What can I say? I had 300 tool changes with no problem whatsoever since yesterday. No skipped layers. I´m still suspicious but on the other hand quite happy.
