MMU2s not recognized by newly upgraded MK3S

Hi all,

Big PRUSA fan here (with a MK2, MK3, Mini) and just got around to building the MMU2s for my MK3. The MMU2s contained the upgrade to turn the MK3 into a MK3s (basically an extruder rebuild with new filament sensor). After 2+ days of rebuilding I put it all together, plugged it in and turned it on.

First thing I did was flash the firmware for both the printer (which is now a MK3s) and also the MMU2s which all went fine, however 1) the MK3s doesn't seem to acknowledge the MMU2s exists (if you go into the menu it says "N/A" for the MMU and for example there's no filament "LOAD ALL" menu item), and 2) The 5 LED's on the MMU2s are solid GREEN + RED; I looked online but could not find out the meaning of this pattern.

So the first question is, why doesn't the MK3s see the MMU? (And how does the MK3s actually communicate with the MMU?)

The next question is, in the meantime, can I simply skip the MMU and at least do a full calibration on the MK3s? (I assume by hand-feeding the filament from the spool into the extruder).

Thanks,

Steve

RE: MMU2s not recognized by newly upgraded MK3S

Hi folks - major user error. As careful as I thought I was, I did insert the communications connector 1 pin too far to the left. (I do not have that little connector bracket-guide thingy that is now available. The MMU2s now seems to be working but I am having major issues with the IR sensor calibration which I'll spend some time with before posting.
