...FINDA issue ? Board port issue ? Firmware issue ? Who can tell ? The only way to go back to the normality was to turn the printer off and on.

In this case you can just reset the MMU unit only. It will sync again and you can proceed printing.

Too easy.... 😎  3 Board reset did not sort any effect. I though the my board or FINDA was gone. 😒
But when I turned off the printer, waited few seconds and then turned it on again, all backed to work normally. 👍

I wonder if Power Fail (pull the plug from the wall/power supply) would help in such a situation and lead to a saved print? Have to remember to try the next time I (hopefully never) run into such a case.

Interesting. Maybe the ball got stuck (had this issue). In such a case the reset of MMU is not doing much. I unscrewed the PTFE tube and pushed some filament through the hole to let the ball rolling. You can feel it and hear it if it's working correct. Maybe some kind of other issue which I didn't had so far. Sometimes you just wander 🙂

I had also a case where some filament hairs piled up  in the ball chamber. Caused similar issue with FINDA always triggered.

Anyway my MMU reset approach is usually:

  1. Make sure FINDA is working fine with the ball, no filament is loaded
  2. Hit the MMU reset button
  3. Press the right button to force MMU initialization
  4. Press middle button for each filament position to make sure it can load correct
  5. Unpause the print
