Upgrades to fan

Are there recommended upgrades to fans that would provide better cooling to improve printing without supports? For  mk3 you recommend?

Fan mods

I would recommend that you get really good at printing with the stock printer before you mod it.  A quick search of Thingiverse or the printer files on this site will give you some options.

Fan upgrade curvy overhangs

Thanks! For the feedback. I am doing several projects that are highly curvy not over 45 degrees but things like rounded pots etc and I’m finding imperfections. I’ll look for overhang tests files, but wanted to look into options if I can avoid having to make extra tweets of I will be printing many of theM.

Improved Mk3S fan duct

I know this isn't a 'fan upgrade' as such, but it does improve the efficiency of the part cooling fan.  I have found it gives a small but quite worthwhile improvement particularly on bridging and on back side overhangs:

I have it printed in a cellulose lactide (or PL/PHB?) material.  In my case Extrudr Greentec Pro Carbon, but normal Extrudr Greentec Pro or Fillamentum NonOilen will work just as well; all have a HDT >=110°C

N.B. I only know that it fits the Mk3S, it may be possible to print an adapter for an older Mk3, but I don't know for certain.

The other thing I have found that improves the print quality is the Phaetus Dragon hotend.  I don't fully understand why there's an improvement in quality, but that's what I found.
