Socket Cap Screw Source

Where does everyone buy their M3 socket cap screws that are similar to those used in the MK3 build kits?

@cwbullet

Yes, US. Thank you. It looks like they have a great iOS app too.

Which head profile (standard or low), material (stainless steel or steel), and thread pitch (.35 or 5 mm) does Prusa and most people use for their mods and printed projects?

@goodygizmos

Most prusa screws are M3    3mm diameter, 0.5mm pitch

I have used M3, M4, M5,M6 and M8 with printer projects for various reasons  the M8 were on a Rifle stock. M6 on a Rifle BiPod, the others on various models

@goodygizmos

I generally use Stainless, because the are resistant to corrosion, and always stronger than plastic parts.

they don't have the strength of High tensile steel screws and bolts  But i don't need that!

RE: Socket Cap Screw Source

since moving mass is a consideration I have been looking at aluminium and titanium M3 screws for drones to use in the moving bits of my mk3s+ but I have not seen much talk online about this.

aluminium looks to have enough strength and is way cheaper than titanium but the titanium looks to add considerable strength and a bit of lightness for more bucks.

aluminium has lots of thermal expansion, adding iffyness for high temperature printing that titanium should be stellar at.

the titanium screws I found on ammazon were mostly low grade chinesium , matching the lower price.
