I've been searching but need assistance!!! Under Voltage reported using Raspberry Pi 4
Hi, I use a Raspberry Pi 4 with my Mk3S+ but have been getting under voltage reports in my octopi recently even though nothing has been changed.
I used to get this with an Ender 3 but cured it with a USB power blocker which has disapeared since changing to the Prusa.
I got this blocker from a guy in Ireland but cannot find his details, does anyone know him or can suggest an alternative source for one of these power blockers ?

Just get a power adaptor rated for your RPI
Most RPI's come with a power adaptor - I'd suggest using the one that came with your raspberry pi. Usually only see that when someone uses a voltage source that needs more viagra or something.

Hi Dan, I already use a 5v 3.1A PSU That came with the Raspberry Pi !!!
Any other suggestions??
Buy a beefier one.
apparently your voltage or current feed is too low. Beefier one is called for.
Power supply and/or cables can fail
That warning is an indicator that the RPi is detecting insufficient current. It is possible that the 3D printer is drawing power via USB. I haven't had this problem with my Mk3, but it's a definite issue with other printers. I use this USB power blocker gizmo from TH3D. I'm sure there are others. You could always hack a cable to do the same.
It is possible for the cables to be damaged. If you get warnings with the 3D printer disconnected, I'd try another.
It's also possible something's amiss with your RPi 4, but that's less likely.

I get those warnings all the time no matter what power supply I use - and I have ones that should have plenty of output. On the other hand, I have never seen any ill effects from the warnings. I think the Pi's are just too sensitive and report very minor fluctuations. The one problem that these cause is specific to Octoprint in that it will refuse to update if it has ever seen a power dip, even if just as part of startup. While I generally think the work that she does on Octoprint is fabulous, I think she is being too picky on this on. Luckily you can override how Octoprint gets its information about under-voltage and get the updates to happen.

I don't have a pi 4, but on the pI 3B+ I was getting the under voltage warnings even with the pi power supply. It turned out the problem was an excessive voltage drop across the inline power switch that came with my Canna kit. When I removed it, I stop getting the under voltage warnings.
With my current pi, I've bypassed the USB plug completely and soldered the wires directly to the back of the pi.
This may be too adventurous for some, but it works for me.

I don't use the RPi with the Prusa, but I do a lot of projects with the various Pi models.
I've found that the Pi 4, specifically, can't take a joke as far as power is concerned, and tends to show up with an undervolt warning unless I use as short as possible a power cable and select the power supply to get one that gives at least 5 volts (no 4.9 stuff) under load.
I have one of those in-line USB power meters to check these.
For one project (a mini Heath/Zenith 89 model) that uses a Pi 4, I actually had to add one of those boosters to get it to consistently stay out of undervolt warning when running on a power stick.
