Enclosure for mk3s/mk2s: Prusa-box
Hi,
First I hopes I am allowed to present my project here.
I was starting by doing my own diy enclosure with aluminium profile, plexiglass, wood...etc But I was not satisfied of the design. I am also working in sheet metal industry and based on this experience. I design a new enclosure.
Prusa box is a kit with stainless steel part, transparent doors, printed parts and hardware necessary for assembling.
We design also part for a lot of accessory: raspberry, screen, webcam, HEPA filter, temperature control, mmu2 integration...etc

Just some observations from across the pond.
I like the general idea, but...
-> I already gave Prusa my money. I unless they pay me for "Prusa" logo advertisement on my enclosure, I'm not cool with "Prusa Box" on the top of the case. As for the "box" part of "Prusa Box", we all know it is a box. Nothing to brag about there. Show me an Hermes scarf, or purse that says "Hermes" on it, and I may change my mind.
-> Would be nice to get PC instead of Acrylic panels. PC takes heat better, and I can cut it, drill it, yell at it like an ex-wife, and I will still be good. Not so with Acrylic.
-> Your website is wild and crazy in a bad way. What exactly do I get for my order? Is is a retail site or a video game?
-> Does a paving stone with sorbothane bumpers fit? Will there be enough room after that for an MMU?
-> Shipping to USA is seriously a deal killer. Not your fault, but might be worth offering a configuration without the panels, which I assume (just me assuming, perhaps incorrectly) might make shipping to the USA more thoughtful. Panels to then be source locally.

Don't have it in hand yet, but I get PC (lexan) panels, and 2020 framing. With 2020 framing, I can attach all kinds of stuff, and easily expand it out any way I like. I'll update my opinion next week when I have it in hand.
Anyway, very nice to see somebody putting serious thought into an enclosure. I really did not like the Lack setups. Never seen one in person, but it just did not work for me.

@skia : Some people are using the logo plate outside of the enclosure. It will hide the Prusa box logo.

Too funny. Makes a claim that a HEPA filter with charcoal removes VOC's. Also, seems you have to print all of your own plastic parts: they don't come with the 250 euro kit.
All that said - this is a commercial post in a user to user Prusa owned forum. Did you get permission from Prusa to advertise here?
The Logo
What a bunch of Sour C$$p, your problem is the LOGO. Now I am guessing, are your printers at home who is going see the advertising. How many people would even know that it did not come the way they see it. And by the way your house will smell a lot better if the air coming out of your printer was filtered. There is nothing on the market that will even come close to the quality of this box for the same money. So that is why I ordered one. Most people are proud of the Prusa Printer they bought you noticed what is all over it the same name. Give the guy a break he is proud of what he built and so will I be

I just wanted to add my humble thoughts, since it seems that Julian took some negative heat.
here is some positive cool…
We (son & I) are complete 3D printing noobs.:-) We will be opening the box of our MK3S+ kit today. I have been preparing by getting all the ingredients beforehand - filament, dryer, PC for slicing, tools, supplies, etc.
We did some research on enclosures. While there are many good and very good solutions, the Prusa Box had more positive reviews, with its simple design, ease of assembly and the potential for a multitude of modifications. The website is more than fine for determining what is available, instructions, support files, ordering, payment & shipping. Product arrived as promised. Quality was as advertised.
The problem we have now is trying to figure out which mods to do. I want all of them!
I may send an email to Printer-Box with this question: “Does or can Printer-Box have a recommended order of adding mods?” While it is great to add as you go, I don’t want to have to un-build too much.
I do agree that polycarbonate would be more durable than acrylic, but there is also a trade off in that poly scratches much easier. At the end of the day, this is a very minor detail. And, if one is passionate about it, pretty sure they could find pc locally.
