Ugly prints after Bondtech extruder install
Greetings Everyone,
I'm a part of a local 3D printer enthusiast club and not long ago some of my fellow Prusa owners were going on about the improvements they saw when swapping the stock MK3S extruder for a Bondtech. The prints they brought showed clear improvements as well. I decided to do the same thing but ever since, all of my prints are just... ugly? I think that's the best way to describe it. Flat surfaces are bumpy and somewhat uneven and my previously near perfect print quality has taken a drastic turn for the worst. (see pics)
I've followed Bondtech's instruction manual and several videos, I've browsed countless forum topics on the subject, and I've measured multiple times to ensure I'm using the correct estep value. I also upgraded my firmware as the upgrade requires, switched between slicers, and used stock as well as modified print profiles that take into account the upgrade. I'm at my wit's end here and I can't seem to make any progress in the right direction. Has anyone else encountered anything similar to this? I'm open to any and all suggestions and thank you in advance!

For anyone curious, I found out finally what the issue was. I'd been following some guides online, including an older one from Bondtech's site that was actually an older revision of the same upgrade I purchased. In my kit, it came with a new stepper motor that is different in size and operation from the original Prusa one. In some of the older revisions of my kit, it required you to reuse the stepper motor from Prusa, which is what those guides I was following referenced. In those guides, they all mention that you must adjust the esteps value to 830, which I had been doing with this motor and upgrade. I finally realized after pouring over the Bondtech firmware that it was setting the esteps value to 415. As it turns out with this new motor, that is the correct value. Bondtech hasn't upgraded their site yet to mention that their kits now come with the different motor and that it is no longer required to adjust the esteps after you flash the new Bondtech firmware. Now, all my prints are turning out beautiful! The incorrect doubling of the esteps was what was causing all of the sloppy prints.
