Thekkiinngg textured sheet v4 = AMAZING

I decided to take a risk buying the third party textured sheet from the kkiinngg:
https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/Thekkiinngg?ref=l2-shop-info-avatar&listing_id=634102092

I ordered it on Sunday, and it was delivered Monday afternoon. No miracle, i believe he lives in Quebec like me.

I was skeptical, as i am with most purchases. But i read reviews that the version 4 of it is drastically improved. And for $50 canadian plus $20 shipping, i had little to lose.

So i did my first level calibration and lowered z because this sheet is thinner than the pei sheet and textured sheets like to have squished filament.

And 10 prints later, i am speechless. Using PETG on the prusa pei sheet it would always lift, and come off regardless of how many times i acetone / dawn / scrubbed it with 100% alcohol etc etc. Even on brand new sheets fresh out of the bubble wrap bag ( i bought 7 of them for backups ), the prints would fail 75% of the time using petg because of lifting. The only way i could get PETG to stick was printing with 4mm or larger brim. Then they came out perfect.

However, with this textured sheet, all i can say is its life changing.

The old addage "nothing good lasts forever", well, if this sheet gives me 2 months of good prints, to me its worth every penny.

The only problem now... is that so many people are buying this sheet, this guy is starting to have trouble supplying......

I will probably buy a few more sheets for backup before these sheets go the way of the "LEAD TIME 8 MONTHS" and/or " we will let you know" status.

The previous versions of this aftermarket sheet have been wanting, but i believe from my own limited use so far that its worth every penny.

Version 3 is pretty close to Prusa. I have not done a head to head comparison.

Someone must have changed their sheets then as my V3 sheet and newly acquired Prusa sheets are quite different. The texture on the Prusa sheet is more dense and uniform and my V3 sheet is not. Of the build sheets I have, Prusa smooth PEI, BuilTak, TheKinng V2, TheKinng V3 and the Prusa textured sheet the Prusa textured sheet is the one to beat by far. The texture on it is my favorite for sure and knock on wood I have no issues with PETG and PLA sticking to it. I sure hope Prusa is able to make these available for purchase before mine becomes unusable.

Edit, the V3 sheet and Prusa sheet are similar in that they're both textured but the texture on the Prusa sheet is much nicer and the surface is much flatter. I'll try to snap a couple of pictures when I get home tonight.

I think he is out of stock on Etsy, but he does sell on Amazon.com. His stock is going very fast as usual.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HQZCWDV/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=AGHY8KVLCHKFY&psc=1

If you do buy it, please post your experience! I hope his v4 is more consistent. I am having no problems with it.

But please read and follow directions. You cannot wash with water, only 100% alcohol for some reason.

Since somebody mentioned BuildTak... don't use acetone on BuildTak. You'll have BaldTak. Just FYI.

I should restate that. The print and adhesive characteristics are similar.

V3 is nice. I will buy a version 4 eventually. I am sure it is worth the investment. I am just no sure it is worth replacing my V3.

Just bought 2, hopefully it will make life a little easier, even though the PEI sheet from Prusa works fine will be nice to have a different texture, thanks for the heads up.

Just an FYI: There multiple reports of folks having the surface life off. Do not let it cool below 60 degeres before popping the pritn off. I would rehead the bed if it cools.

Re: Thekkiinngg textured sheet v4 = AMAZING

I have three of the V3's. The V4 looks like its texturing is more complete. Overall I am very pleased with the V3 sheet that I have used continually for the last three months with PETG. Cleaning off between PETG print jobs usually doesn't even need a wipe down. Provided I only handle the edges, I Just pop off the pieces, brush off any stray bits and go again.

The only thing that has been a problem is where the initial wipe line is dropped. When I started with the sheet, I let the standard Prusa startup codes apply the line. That same line, pressed to the same spot took an early toll on that strip - making removal of the line more and more difficult. I've since learned and now have my startup code deposit the start line from a bit higher. That lets the initial line come off easily and reduces wear on the PEI.

BTW, you can rotate the sheet 180 degrees and it stays in place just fine without the slots engaging heatbed registration bolts. That helps distribute wear. This is separate from flipping the sheet over to use the other side.

Intersting idea. I will to try that.

I ordered one. Prusa's PC has the same problem reported.
