Removable exteuder

I have had my Mk3 for a while now and I just converted it to Mk3s. I have been thinking about new things I want mod it for.

One big thing I thought of was the ability to easily remove the extruder from the axis. I have searched but haven't found any thing that's concrete. Does anybody know of any mods that help me accomplish this task.

One big aspect of removing the extruder are the wires. Is there a way I can have a single connector that I plug all the wires into that way I don't have to disconnect them from the board just the extruder?

I have seen those printers that have multi use capability but they are more like hot swap style conncetions. I am looking to just unscrew like 4-5 screws unplug the wire connection and it's off.

Re: Removable exteuder

I would really like to have a removable extruder, and to me the key complication/requirement in this is to make the wires easily removable. Seems like there are two obvious approaches:

1) An inline connector near the extruder, or

2) The EINSY could just have a bulkhead connector and terminate the wiring bundle there, then swap the whole wiring bundle with the extruder.

A complicating factor is the heater wires, which are fairly heavy gauge compared to everything else. Something like a mini-fit jr could probably handle the low-power cabling, but not the heater wires. Just getting down to two connectors (one power, one signal) terminated outside the EINSY case would be better than a half-dozen connectors terminated inside the EINSY case.
