Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ integration
Good day Prusa family!
I am wanting to make my MK3S wireless capable. I've read about adding a raspberry pi Zero to the Einsy, but I have also read that some problems have been detected when printing remotely while using the RP Zero. Is it possible to enable wireless connection to the printer using a Raspberry Pi model B+ via usb port? or is it even possible to establish connection with the afore mentioned board at all?
Link to the board I'm looking at --> https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07BFH96M3/?coliid=I1FVT5YUDM46IU&colid=1L6EUHWT8CP3C&psc=1
Thank you in advance!

A RPi 3B is perfect for running Octoprint to do exactly what you're describing. Setup takes a few minutes.

Be sure to specify the country code while configuring wifi. Don't ask me how I know that is easy to forget.

Hey Bobstro!
That sounds promising! Do you know where could I find a guide to program it and make it work with the MK3S?
Or the same RP Zero configuration will work with the RP B+?
RE: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ integration
You will find some nice cases on Thingiverse for your Pi that will mount directly on the MK3 frame. 3B and 4 (overkill) are both available.
You have a choice of power - it's own wall wart or a buck converter to the MK3 PSU. Pick up a camera while you are at it.
OctoLapse is the coolest thing going.
I am aware of the arguments against - but I use the MK3 24V. I don't want more wires out of my enclosure...
RE: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ integration
From memory, there's a version of OctoPi for the multi-core CPUs. Download that, edit the config and fire it up. Plug in your USB cable and you're all set.

Don’t you lose power loss/recovery if you use OctoPrint?

It's a trade-off. You do lose power recovery if printing over USB, which includes Octoprint. Bummer, but it's not something I count on too much. What you gain back is remove management and monitoring, the ability to cancel single parts in a multi-part print, a host of diagnostics and convenience. The ability to print directly from PrusaSlicer is really nice, and not having to battle that stupid FlashAir card is a godsend.

Just beware the perils of using something dependent on what it monitors. The Prusa power supplies are a bit borderline, so a bad combination of heavy printer activity and CPU utilization might cause problems or resets.

Great points. I had mine hooked up and I was using it until a buddy convinced me power loss protection was important. I’m going to rethink it. Having to use flash cards is getting old.

i use octoprint + a UPS - no need for power fail recovery
RE: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ integration
UPS + automatic power generator. No power fail recovery ever used here. The benefits of the Raspberry Pi and Octoprint tremendously increase printer flexibility and all remote monitoring for safety.
