MK3S Parts in STEP version

Hi,

I would like to modify the original design (mainly on Einsy box) to add:

- a proper cable entry (with calbe clip) for te MMU cable)

- an extented version to add a RB3 below the box

I really want to start from the latest version. But editing the part from the STL version of the files is very hard.

Is it possible to get the parts in the STEP version ?

You know the search function?

They are still on Github like mentioned in all the other posts.

Yes, I did search, i checked the files on the github you pointed out... But the Einsy-base and Einsy-doors are only available in SCAD format, not STEP. Am I Wrong ?

They swapped from scad to step. But only those files are available, that were changed after the software swap. All files in the step folder are newer then there equivalent in the scad folder. If your part isn't in the step folder, then it hasn't been changed since than.

You can do the conversion with FreeCAD.

Thanks, but I've already looking into all tutorials about scad to STEP conversion. The Einsy-base file contains resize() function calls not supported by FreeCAD.

This is why I asked for geting hand on STEP files. But maybe the dev simply do not have them

Let me know if you can do something. Thanks in advance.

RE: MK3S Parts in STEP version

Scad to step files to convert is ok , but for some part x carriage is not possible !! and step files to use or modify in 3d software is perfect !!

unfortunatly all step files are not in the github links , for the MK3 S ...sad

@patrickb

OpenSCAD has no STEP export. I exported the data from SCAD to STL and made the rest with FreeCAD (converted to STEP). The STEP files are not perfect on the circular segments (many small segments), but you can edit it, for example with Rhino.
