Looking for MK3 + MMU outer dimensions

Hello,
Just ordered my M3 and it's MMU is due in Feb. As the room it will live in is subject to significant temp swings (20+ degrees F in the winter between overnight and when I'm in there working with a heater on) I'd like to get started on a proper enclosure for it while I'm waiting. I can't, however, seem to find the outer dimensions for either the basic unit or with the MMU. Does anyone know where that info is documented? Or could someone provide the rough dimensions?

Also, if the filament isn't fed directly from above like with the Lack enclosure, how much clearance will be needed so it can feed properly?

Thanks

It adds about 7.5cm above the frame itself, but the PFTE tube to the extruder can use up as much as 20cm above the frame:

And yes, that's a modded IKEA IVAR 80x50cm, but the camera arm pokes out about 10cm.

I didn't find the measuring tape but I hope the original MK3 needed space is easier to find online... the MMU2 can be moved and you can have a different PFTE tube, but it might require modded software - I'm not sure.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Unfortunately I still can't find the printer's dimensions online (though I have been known to miss the obvious from time to time).

That's an interesting idea about relocating the MMU. I suppose as long as the new position let it original tube still work without stress that would cause issue then the software wouldn't be an issue. As this is my first printer, however, I think I'll skip mods until either I run into a problem or I get a better understanding of how it all works 😆

I'll see if I can find a measuring tape tomorrow if noone has solved it yet.

I do like my solution with an IKEA IVAR, I might cut plexiglass to make a "cover" for it at some point. But I'm not super motivated - I'm not usually in that room, the temperature is super even (22°C-25°C over most of the YEAR) and there's an air purifier so it's not very dusty...

My enclosure (which is pretty close to as tight as you can get to a stock Prusa + MMU) is 456mm across, 580mm deep, and 550mm high. You may be able to shave a few mm off those dimensions, but then you may also have to start looking at careful x-axis cable routing, and bed cable routing.

Re: Looking for MK3 + MMU outer dimensions

Height of frame without mmu2 is 380mm,
Width of frame is 435mm but there's cables on both sides, especially the power connector is taking space (I switched to an angled one). I would add 100-150mm.
Depth is 560mm, in full back (minimum z) the cable protrudes quite a bit.

Thanks for that. Nice set up with the IKEA shelving BTW. I already have a bunch of that system, but it's all full 🙁

As it turns out they weren't remotely as delayed as stated and I just got notice from DHL that it should be here Friday! 😎

So not really enough time to set something up and have it waiting for the printer to get here.

Good point, I forgot the power lead, which extends outside my cabinet. Better add 40 or so mm to the width I mentioned. -510mm width.

...and there's a firmware to support relocating the MMU:
