Just changed nozzle and noticed this....

Hi all,

This is my first nozzle change on my MK3S I got in April 2020. I just changed my nozzle and put in a new one and then I noted the red wire touching the silver heat block. I pushed it away and noticed a slight burn on the tubing. If I had left it touching would it have burned through? Is it ok to leave like this or could it possibly move over time and come in to contact with the silver block and burn right through it.

Thanks

@chrisdmd

Congratulations, you got through the first nozzle change without the right of passage, monster blob.

You should be able to release the ziplocks and to get a little slack on the cables, not too much though. That right angle may eventually break the heater cartridge wires. If there is too much slack the wires will collide with the sides when moving right and left. Once your satisfied with the slack, then place new ziplocks to keep the bundle in place.

Good luck and stay safe,

Phil

Stay safe and healthy, Phil
