Hi,
As of sometime today I get the following error when trying to start PrusaControl on both my machines (Win10)
FATAL ERROR!
Failed to execute main script

Tried uninstalling, then re-installing while off line, and the problem persists 😕

EDIT: I have tried both 0.9.2.297_beta and 0.9.3.388_beta, same result.

Got it working, I did this (NOTE: This is on Windows 10):

Downloaded the latest version of PrusaControl(0.9.3.388_beta) from here:
https://prusacontrol.org/#download

Downloaded the latest settings in a zip file from here:
https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaControl-settings

Pasted the extracted new files here (overwriting existing):
C:\Program Files (x86)\PrusaControl\data

Ran the program, but still not working.

So I then pasted the new files in:
C:\Users\[**USER NAME**]\.prusacontrol

Ran the program and it worked !

I then uninstalled PrusaControl, and deleted the remaining folders:

C:\Program Files (x86)\PrusaControl
C:\Users\[**USER NAME**]\.prusacontrol

Then installed the latest version again, and it worked straight away 🙂

So maybe users with this problem simply need to copy the new settings files into their C:\Users\[**USER NAME**]\.prusacontrol folder
or
Uninstall and delete the remaining folders before re-installing.

Sort of glad to see I'm not the only one having this problem. I get the same "failed to execute main script" error on both my PCs. Both were working 12 hours ago, today neither is.

I got it to work sort of using Hewster's solution. But...

I noted that the download from github had a file that was not in my Users\[**USER NAME**]\.prusacontrol folder:

materials_i3_mk2mm.json

I moved just that file to that folder, and it started up.

Hello All;

I have the same issue with the "Failed to Execute script main" Fatal Error message. It was clear on my machine that this occurred right after the WIN10 update 😮

The advice for the new updates will be followed tonight.

I had the same issue, and it was also fixed by placing a new copy of materials_i3_mk2mm.json in the C:/Users/<username>/.prusacontrol directory. This file was missing for some reason.

same issue, fixed by just adding the materials_i3_mk2mm.json in my .prusacontrol folder. It did not exist before.

OS: Win7
None of the suggested methods fixed Prusa Control on Windows 7. Still will not start - same error message: "Failed to Execute script main". I uninstalled Prusa Control. Deleted the Prusa Control directory under my account directory. Installed the current version - failed. Applied the latest settings from GitHub - failed. Installing it as Admin / running as Admin made no difference.

Something in the latest MS update really smacked it. 🙁

Hi, try searching for printers.json, this is also in the .prusacontrol folder.

Hey team,

Just wanted to make the appropriate people aware that PrusaControl has broken for myself and others as of the latest update. I have tried a suggested fix of replacing the files in the "data" folder under PrusaControl with the files on the github PrusaControl-settings page, as well as a complete uninstall and reinstall of the program. Neither of these have worked. If anyone has any other suggestions or updates, or if I find anything else out, post up!
OS: Windows 10

I had the same problem just after i tried to install the update that was recently released, but when i right clicked and ran the file as administrator, the program started up fine after that.

After uninstalling Prusa Control and the .prusacontrol folder under Users, and then installing the latest update, I was able to get the software to work. All good! 😀

I uninstalled the current version, looked for the .prusacontrol in the Users file, deleted it and installed the 3.388 version.

This booted up fine and I immediately received the message to download the newest version 3.900. that I accepted.

This installed just fine.

Hey I've got the same problem.
I tried uninstalling, installing, deleting .prusacontrol folder,...
But still prusacontrol won't start

Yes, Broken.

Prusacontrol I get Fatal Error : failed to execute script main

Slic3r Prusa edition just will not load, no reaction to double click

Pronterface loads but errors when loading a file with location info.
