How to save a Slic3r setup with the STL information

I'm trying to learn the Slic3r software after using Simplify. The one thing I can not find in the user manual
is how to save a project. Simplify would call it a factory file but I can't find an equivalent technique in Slic3r.
Lets say I import an STL file and place it where I think it needs to be. Then I choose the filament and go
through all of the settings I think will work. I export the Gcode and I'm almost done. Now I want to save
all of these setups so that if I need to revisit the job in a month and make a change to the position of the
STL information I can reload everything just as it was when I originally worked on it.

This is not exactly what you are looking for, but I think you can script slic3r from the command line.

Slic3r currently does not offer a single "factory" file, but you can do following:

1) To export the platter, you may go to menu Plater -> Export plate as AMF. You may then just drag & drop or use the "Add" button to open it. In the Slic3r PE 1.34 the AMF is finally fast enough to be usable.

2) To export the configs, go to menu File -> Export Config. To load the config, go to menu File -> Load Config.

This simple workflow will achieve very much the same as the S3D factory file.

Well, export config bundle does not seem to export the settings but only what configs was chosen. So this will not save and make the information transferable to e.g. another machine

hi hoegge,

as I opened Slic3r_config_bundle.ini with text editor, there are all profiles for filament, print and printer stored and also actual preset.
Why do you think that this is not transferable to another machine?
