Re: P. I. N. D.

Ok. I may have to appologise you wrote P.I.N.D.

And I read P.I.N.D.A.

And assumed you were talking about the Z level end stop sensor that is used for bed leveling as well.

If this is what you are talking about. I believe it is energised whenever the printer is powered up. And whenever it comes near enough to the bed level sensing points or the steel sheet on the mk3. The output signal toggles. There is an LED embedded in the top of the probe housing that should indicate the current status

If the probe is high enough. You should see a red indication at the top of the probe. (You may need to dim the room lights to see it)

If you then put a piece of metal against the bottom of the plastic cap on the bottom of the pinda probe the red led should go dark.

This demonstrates that the probe is active.

The microcontroller senses the pinda output whenever it is trying to locate the heatbed. Typically when homing the z axis and when sensing the the bed levelling points
As far a i know. The rest of the time the pinda output is ignored. I hope this helps.
Of course if you are not talking about the pinda probe. I appologise for wasting our time
