Messy top layer

Messy top layer

Lately I'm getting some problems on the top layers, just as in the photo (PETG 225° - but same happens with PLA). Seems like the Z-hops are a bit messy. Any suggestion?

You have a "plowed field" top layer.

I kind of have the same problem, and have not found a final solution yet.

The 50% top infill setting does sometimes produce nice results, but often the top layer peels just off...

Check calibration of all axes, also check calibration of extruder.
What printer, by the way?

the mk2 obviously 🙂
x/y/z are well calibrated (no skew), for E i've tried the calibration but it seems to worsen things (overextrusion). btw, i don't mind the lines, that's overexxagerated by the picture light and angle, my problem is that blob around each z-hop. Maybe i've to change the nozzle?
