Spring Steel Sheet wrapping/bending => wrapped prints

Hi,

Anyone have problems regarding the spring steel sheet itself bends/wraps?

I have some large prints where the base surface / first layer ends up not being straight.

When put in a surface it lifts itself approx 2 mm in one of the ends.

It's printed with brim and the prints still sits on the steel sheet when the prints has finished without any signs of wrapped.

But the the print has been remove from the steel sheets the surface it not strings like it has wrapped.

I'm suspecting that the steel sheet itself have bend.

I need to glue two mirrored parts together and needs two 100% planner surfaces.

The print is 25  cm long and sits diagonal on the print bed. Printed like it stand on the attached picture.

All inputs VERY appreciated.

Kristian

It is possible for parts to be stuck to the pei/steel sheet and the sheet to bend up away from the magnets yes.  Before removing it from the bed it will be obvious though as there will be a gap under the sheet at the edge.  If the steel is warping up then you can use small binder clips on the edges to give extra hold.  You have to position them carefully so that they dont impact bed travel, so front and back edges only.

The other possibility is if the part hasnt fully cooled down before you remove it from the bed it can warp at that point in which case it isnt on the bed anymore so its not being held as the plastic contracts.  For large parts that are warping its best to wait until its completely at room temperature before removing either the part or the bed from the printer.

Yeah that sounds familiar. I also had the steel sheet bend and lift off the heated bed slightly with larger prints. Binder Clips in the corners helped prevent that.

So far I only had that happen with PETG though

Also try to print hotter and/or a hotter bed.
