Design them with higher resolution (it is not the printer's fault).

RE: Newbie question - Simple Circles

Let me add more info, I am using Inventor Professional and creating rings to dress up a 1.25" hole entry. When I extrude and fillet the edges it renders smooth. Once I bring it into the slicing software it renders smooth. When I print it it comes out in a diamond style cut edges.

I tried a revolve and it printed smooth edges.

Not blaming the printer just trying to learn why this was happening. i.e. a setting that I have not discovered ect..

thanks for the response.

If you are talking facets on a ring, where it becomes a poly rather than an arc, then that's 100% inside your CAD software. Nothing to do with the slice.

pps: some day I'll learn to special and type, I promise ... lol.

Try checking your settings for stl export. In my CAD Software (Solid Edge) you can pick different resolutions for exported STLs.
