Inro Line in Slic3r?

I noticed on the test prints a feature/process is used that I would prefer using in all my models for now; the intro line.

After inspecting the code of one of the test pieces from Prusa, I find:

G1 Y-3.0 F1000.0 ; go outside pritn area
G1 X60.0 E9.0 F1000.0 ; intro line
G1 X100.0 E12.5 F1000.0 ; intro line

So, Im assuming I can add that into Slic3r under custom g-code?

Where exactly? "Start Gcode box?"

Thanks!

That GCode should already be in Slic3r if you are using the correct profile.

If you want to use it for other printers, those must be able to get to a negative Y position and yes, it will be inserted in the "Start GCode" box.

Installed the most recent, and its not in the default (or being generated). Should be using g-hop instead?

From the drivers package (1.7.4):

In both "colourprint" and "Z-Hop" profiles - but not in "default" which should not be used.

I see that. Although, the first few prints I did worked out well. (Default). Thanks Peter 🙂

Pleasure.

With regard to the Z-Hop profile; only use it on models that require use of Z-Lift. It can cause unwanted stringing and takes longer. Use the ColourPrint profile wherever you can - it is not just for the ColourPrint feature.

The default profile is not for use with this printer, but apparently removing it has proven to be difficult.

Yeah, but it seems that you now have your printer and hopefully enjoying the experience?
