improve extrusion suggestions
Attached are two images from two different printers first layer prints. One might be described as uneven, with a wavy effect. The other seems normal by comparison. What might cause this uneven extrusion? Is the nozzle clogged? I've tried to clean it out with the wire tool, but with no effect. Do I need to disassemble the extruder?

This same printer finally failed and started putting out this shredded mess at the top of the object as shown in the attachment. I don't know if I need to tear out the extruder or what. Any wisdom on this mess?

I'd try a few cold pulls, possibly followed by a nozzle replacement.
