eSUN PETG profile ( *.ini) for Slic3r?

I was reading this regarding using eSUN PETG: http://forum.makergear.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2593

Can anyone share their Slic3r ini profile file?

I've been printing with eSUN clear PETG, and that post is pretty much correct except for some preferences like skirts (which I don't do, ever) and whatnot.

Even the same brand filaments will behave slightly differently even based on pigmentation, so it's probably easier to describe the problem you are having.

Just remember you need to print slow.

I had one print work fine, but two jobs failed because of build up on the nozzle. In doing more research, it seems like the biggest factor is printing slow as you mentioned. After that, cooling is critical because of how sticky PETG is. I was also reading that cooler ambient temps are good. I wonder if making a draft with a regular house fan would help.

I guess I was drawn to PETG for how much stronger it is, but I could just increase the infill when printing with PLA and not deal with the drawbacks of PETG.

It seems the best scenario for printing with PETG is to have a dedicated printer since you have to do the atomic cleaning method or use a cleaning filament to avoid clogs.

Hrm. Just exported a config but forum won't accept it as an attachment.

Here's my current eSUN PETG config. Note that this is my personal config and there is some stuff you might not like (like my start/end gcode).

"Strong" is not a good way to describe... anything really. Unlike PLA, it will flex instead of breaking. But that means it will flex. Unlike ABS, it is less likely to bend back into its original shape though.

The main reasons to use PETG are flexibility, low warpage/shrinkage, low toxicity/smell and the fact that it supposedly doesn't take in moisture, so it's a nice filament you can just leave in the printer ready to go.

But it's a stringy mess unless you get the settings right. If you go too fast, it seems to "shred" and get fluffy. But if you go slow and use enough heat, then the next pass can take the fluff and re-fuse it. So that's 2 reasons for going slow. You have to use enough retract/z-hop and know/place your parts carefully and prevent long travels where it can ooze.

Honestly I've got it now to where it's pretty clean, but you'll probably still need to fiddle and think about things a bit for yourself.

I still haven't figured out how to get supports working correctly in slic3r for any filament. Supports are just awful in slic3r.

I think you should just review your own settings, and if something looks suspicious, doublecheck it against mine.

Yes, back off a bit (ie not as close to the bed as for say PLA).

I think you should just review your own settings, and if something looks suspicious, doublecheck it against mine.

I imported the bundle into SLic3r, changed the Firmware to Marlin and it worked brilliantly on a very small test print with eSun Transparent Magenta. I'll do a formal test print later this week and report back.
