X Axis Shifting

I seem to be getting a bunch of X-Axis shifting.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/oTrJFfccFqhAXUs53

It started off small (just adding a slight lean to the left to all my prints), but every now and then it jumps hugely.

I checked the X-Axis tension, and it's nice and tight.

I'm operating in Normal mode, and the Fail Stats aren't showing missed steps (it's been at 255 since I powered it on).

What's the troubleshooting routine for this?

Thanks!

First thing I would check is that your drive pulley is tight on the motor shaft. That's usually the problem when I see things like this.

AH HA! That was exactly it. The gear shaft wasn't properly secured to the motor. How silly of me.

Glad to hear it! Nice easy fix.

I think they should draw more attention to this in the manual. You certainly aren't the first person who has had this problem.

Re: X Axis Shifting

Hi

I had the same with a non prusa style printer. I was looking a while for the driver but there was a easy test to do. Just try to stop the axes and let the drive miss some steps. When you compare this whith the other axes, it need to be more ore less the same force. For me it was a big difference so there whas some mechanical failure.

Good you find your problem.
