Trials and tribulations of a Mk3 owner.

Before I start, I am overall happy with my printer. I get good results. I get little waste. It is far far far better than my Kossel Delta in every single way (except flow rate, because the delta has been volcano-ed and titan-ed.

Here are the things I've been through personally and where I am currently.

- Order Mk3 shortly after it's announced
- Read and watch early videos of it - this should be awesome, especially the bed and smart features.
- Won't get powder-coated sheets, still ship yes/no? Decide yes.
- Built printer from kit - everything is working fine - yay!
- Filament sensor stops working.
- Filament sensor heats up to ~200C and melts the extruder housing. oh my.
- Receive replacement sensor and extruder parts - thanks support! Decide not to fit it - it should not be able to draw enough amps to hit 200C, in my eyes this is a DANGEROUS FLAW that has not been addressed.
- Changing nozzle resulted in breaking it (oops) as I couldn't heat it up without reassembling it just to heat it up and then disassemble. I take the hit and buy new stuff from E3D and some socks.
- Everything is working, yay!
- Reports come in of the soft rods. I check mine. Oh dear.
- Replacement rods arrive, thanks support!
- Choose not to fit them, as now the bearings on the blower fan are collapsing 🙁
- Try to find a 4 pin fan as there are none on the store - fail - contact support
- Support link me to fans on the store - can't see them - tell webchat - my account gets fixed to see Mk3 parts - thanks support!
- Read about cables (especially the bed thermistor) getting torn out due to spiral wrap. Can't fix it until fans arrive, or I'll be doing the job twice.
- Read about an X tensioner being designed by Prusa. Try and decide to wait for that or not for the rebuild
- Mixed in with all the above, firmware, settings, more firmware, printing every fan shroud anyone ever made, more firmware, than great results 😀

Things currently not matching my initial expectations in the printer:
- I can't use many of the smart features, as I think there's a dangerous fault associated with the sensor.
- Not able to get the final bed yet for the textured finish.
- Facing a pretty major disassembly/rebuild job.

As I said, I'm happy with the printer and mostly happy with support (the blower fans should have been free tbh, that's my only complaint) but the product feels rushed without enough hours in test before it shipped. I feel like I've been a bit through the experience I would expect with a cheap kit, only Prusa does have really good support.

Regarding the filament sensor; there’s a difference between a design flaw and a defective part. I’d like to see pics; but I’m betting a solder bridge set a small fire on the board rather than some current runaway problem. Google for Magic Blue Smoke and you’ll see what I mean.

When someone asks you if you're a god, you say, "YES!"
