New build, a few questions.

So I finally got my mk3 kit and got it together. I printed the Batman logo, benchy, and castle included on the SD card.

Batman and benchy printed great however on the castle print I had 3 issues, about 8 hours in the printer seemed to just randomly stop mid print (I was on the computer next to it and saw nothing that should have caused it)

I cut the gcode to the layer it was at and restarted the print which worked until the peak of the tallest tower and some very fine stringing (see below)

The other issue I'm having is that as the nozzle makes diagonal moves toward 0,0 the printer seems to have a deep vibration. Any ideas?

All prints are from the same card, belts are x279 y255
Hatchbox pla black first layer at 210 remaining at 205, all other print settings were default

Only modification is the igus rjzm-01-08 on the y axis only, everything else is stock.

Re: New build, a few questions.

the tips of the spires seem to be showing overheating which can cause stringing as well...

was the fan running at 100% speed 255?

no idea why it stopped lower down...

Re: New build, a few questions.

Literally just seen this

final version of firmware 3.1.3 MK3 is out!

Description of changes

Extrusion multiplier fix
In 3.1.2 firmware version, there was bug which caused, that extrusion multiplier was always set to 100%. This firmware version fixes this bug.

Selftest
In previous firmware versions, axes checks were very sensitive, which sometimes causes that selftest was failing even in cases that printer harware was ok. This was happening usually on x axis.
In current fimrware version, sensitivity of axes checks were decreased.

which may answer your issues...
may i suggest that you try upgrading the firmware first?

regards Joan

Thanks Joan! I did upgrade the firmware before the print, I'll double check tonight to make sure I upgraded to the right one but looking at the gcode the model was sliced for the 3.1.1 firmware if that would make a difference

Definite improvements but still a touch of overheating.

Print temps are down to 195 and for small layers speed decrease is now 5mm/s
