Re: Delays over delays for the MK3 - I'm fed up, cancelled my order

Hi guys, seems like a Hard tone in the thread....

I was also quite disappointed about the pour info about the schedule.....It was not near crystal clear and still there are things for the company to make better,
Its really frustrating to just wait, in my case I had a launch of my fpv_frame project that is waiting for 3d printed parts....
I expected that the printer would leave the factory allot sooner then it's going to do in real life....I'm hoping they will hold their latest prediction....

I was really sad to get the new update in shipping date announcement when my printer were set to 15January.....And then 2days before....It changed......And I don't like waiting....

But the thing is that I know the potential of this printer since I've seen the parts coming out of the Mk2 .......And that beats any other printer I've ever seen .....The quality is really high, the I3MK3 is not there yet....But I think that it will be pretty soon the Prusa team are really good generally to its customers and they care about us....But the wait is a hell....

Thanks I'm glad and positive that I didn't cancel my order!

If you want to be able to print High Quality parts, and the ability to print all filaments there is ....(I guess) Prusa I3MK3 is the right printer for you...

☺️ And me...!!! ☺️

/Swedronez_fpv frames....Built with a prusa....Soon....haha

They have only had 560 orders total in 4 months, and they are still struggling !!! And it is nothing than a repeat of the same story they had with the MK2 and 2S. Good luck with your printer, if you ever get one ... my Folgertech FT5 R2 has already arrived (less than 10 days after I had ordered) and the print quality is FENOMENAL, once I upgraded the Hotend to a 3ED, and the extruder to a genuine Bondtech (all of which cost me less to buy total than the Prusa kit!!) And I have not even fiddled with the Duet WIFI card which has also arrived, and which I expect to improve silence and print quality even further, as it is based on the TMC2660 which is better specked than the TMC2130 of the Rambo EINSY, and it is also 32bit rather than 8bit. Ok, firmware support is still a challenge and one has to fiddle wit the firmware quite a bit, but I'm pretty good with C programming, so that's ok.

But you are free to wait the better half of the year to get your Prusa, then keep waiting, and wait even further. In the meantime I'm already printing, and trust me, the new Folgertech FT5 R2 is a beast when properly built and calibrated, and cheaper too, more than enough to allow for the upgrades to the genuine E3D hotend and the Bondtech extruder, and still be cheaper than the Prusa. The only drawback with the Forlgertech is that it's really big, which means on needs to place it under the desk rather than on the desk, which is why I chose the Prusa initially, but now that I have it, really, it blows the Prusa out of the water once upgraded to the E3D and the Bontech.

Again, that spreadsheet is self-sourced by the community and only represents a portion of the orders. There is no way to know how many MK3 units have actually been ordered and shipped--just how many we are tracking. Please stop using imperfect/incomplete information in an attempt to prove your (misguided) point.

Also, did you really have to spam all three announcements/stickied posts even after you got to throw your temper tantrum here?

I'm sorry, but Oliver are you really that thick?

The Google document you found is maintained by the good people in the forum, not Prusa themselves!
That means that the orders on the list are the only ones that people themselves put on there, and can therefore be never counted as a total off orders.

We and you simply cannot know how many orders Prusa got, until they make the figures public. So please stop with making a fool of yourself in using that list as some sort of proof. 😆

Well, you know I don't really care whether it's 560 or double that, I maintain that Prusa is still doing a lousy job.

Well, as it seems I did not have the "proper info" when I ordered, as some of the Prusa fans have pointed out, I think it is a good thing that potential customers searching for a new 3D printer and considering buying a Prusa have all the facts before they order
1. Expect to be delivered in 4 month or so.
2. Don't trust anything you may read on the Prusa Website ot anything that Prusa support tells you.
3. IF you don't want to be made into a fool bu Joe Prusa, there are other very capable alternatives to the Prusa. The Folgertech FT5 R2 and the Creality CR-10 are such alternatives.

Cool, you made your point. I'm sure there's another forum you can join for the printer you purchased. BTW, I ordered on October 28th and have had my printer for a week tomorrow. Don't believe me, check the Google sheet.

This thread is nothing more than someone trolling the community to get the pitchforks out.

The fact you don't care says it all.

And why do i get the feeling that secretly you have not cancelled your order and hope others will cancel their orders in an attempt to get in front of the orders of others. 😆

Have fun with the alleged Folgertech. if you have one at all 😉

Seriously, I feel your pain and agree the shipping timetable given in October was seriously lacking but in the end we all had the same choice, fanboy or not, either suck it up buttercup or cancel and move on. I chose to suck it up, you are opting to move on so move on you should...

I do not know, where the original poster got the data. But we had 600 preorders from the launch week alone. We promised to start shipping in November and we did. Expecting us to ship thousands of preorders at day one is not reasonable. We provided a shipping table at the earliest point we could estimate dates. We shipped almost 2000 printers before Christmas. Right now there is around 7000 more preorders and we expect to clear them out in March. I would say we are on a pretty good track compared to MK2 launch.

Anyhow we are very happy for any new member of 3D printing community, no matter if it is i3 or not. Happy printing!

Wow - with them numbers- I can kind of appreciate the lead times involved. Always good to get an idea of what's going on and why there have been delays. Roll on mid Feb for my MK3 😀

Which is apparently community maintained and does not reflect the full backlog. My mistake.

However, you practices have been misleading and you know it. And until the 14th of January, your accurate estimate" showed my order would be delivered the week of the 15th. How infuriating you think it is that after several delays already (November then December) , you discover this on the website, right at the beginning of the week when your order was doe to ship, without even a word of excuse ? And then when you call support, their first answer is "we will cancel your order if you want"... as if they were happy to get rid of customers who have waited patiently for months ? I still maintain you need to fix these supply chain and delivery issues, and try - honestly - not to mislead your customers, and treat them as if all you really want is to hae them off your back. Other companies clearly manage this better, so should you.

You need to give it a rest, you cancelled your order, got a printer that meets your needs and you're happy, move on there's nothing left for you here but sour grapes.

Josef, Thank you for the information - even though you are not required to provide your sales numbers. I am truly impressed as I read these forums, listening to the issues and helpful solutions of the members, with how many MK3 printers are out there already and how small a percentage of owners are unhappy or unsatisfied. There are many of us that understand the 'quality equation' and the efforts and tribulations involved. I think I may speak for more than just a few when I say that as I wait for my MK3 printer, I read these forums to learn from others so that I may have a better experience and whenever possible to offer a comment or two that may help others. I have no expectation that 3D printers, at anywhere near this price point, are commodity products. Keep on doing good work.

Pretty amazing numbers. No offense but I kind of envisioned something a little less sophisticated. I understand intellectual property and all, but it would be really cool to see some of the behind the scenes stuff. I'm really curious as to what goes into developing and putting a new printer to market. Especially after reading you do your own power supply designs rather than just building around something off of the shelf, like I assumed you did.

This is kind of ironic because I have the same order/ship week as you. Although it was pushed back, they actually shipped mine a few days earlier than expected (It just shipped.) So, you waited ALLLLLL this time to just cancel when it probably would have shipped in the next FEW DAYS. You were literally probably in the next batch.

Also, THEY DID ship in November, it is a queue. That is how queues work. I am not sure why you think an excel spreadsheet would be a good way to gauge how many orders they received. Only a fraction of people ordering probably use this forum and put their information there.

Seems like a lot of assumptions all around. Patience is a virtue.

So much troll feeding here; whenever someone posts to a company’s forum, “this company sucks, I’m buying from some competitor” the only possible response is “bon voyage.” So OP thinks Prusa sucks; s/he’s entitled to their opinion; just like I’m entitled to believe it to be misguided. Let’s just all agree to disagree and move on to more constructive pursuits.

That said, Holy Carp! 7000 in the backlog! I’d love to see a video/documentary on how Prusa manages the logistics and allocation of their printer farm! How many of each model is in service? How manytotal parts in production, and how many of each part is printed on each printer? It’s a problem space that could use some super nerdy analytics...

When someone asks you if you're a god, you say, "YES!"
